Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026: NORCET, RRB, PGIMER

Here are the nursing officer and staff nurse recruitments of 2026 that we could confirm from the recruiting body's own website, with dates, posts and links. We list only notices we could see on an official site. If a recruitment you are waiting for is missing, it is either not notified yet or we could not verify it. 2026 nursing recruitments at a glance

AIIMS NORCET-10 and NORCET-11

NORCET is the common exam for Nursing Officer (Group B, Level 7) posts at AIIMS institutes and several other central government hospitals. It was held twice in 2026.

NORCET-10 (Notice No. 17/2026, dated 24 February 2026)

• Registration: 24 February to 16 March 2026
• Stage I: 11 April 2026; Stage II: 30 April 2026
• Final vacancy position: 2,779 posts (Notice No. 49/2026, dated 10 April 2026)
• Stage II result: 12 May 2026; seat allocation result: 14 June 2026

NORCET-11 (Notice No. 103/2026, dated 24 July 2026)

• Registration: 24 July to 13 August 2026
• Stage I: 12 September 2026; Stage II: 30 September 2026
• Stage II result: 9 October 2026 (10,613 qualified)
• Choice filling for institute allocation: 30 October to 6 November 2026 (5 PM)

Hospitals that recruit through NORCET

You do not need to watch for a separate exam from these institutes. Their nursing officer seats were filled through NORCET in 2026:

• All participating AIIMS (New Delhi and the newer AIIMS; AIIMS Madurai joined NORCET-11 by addendum)
• AIIMS-CAPFIMS, Maidangarhi
• VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital and Dr. RML Hospital, New Delhi; other central government hospitals in Delhi listed in the advertisement
• JIPMER Puducherry (NORCET-10 also had seats at JIPMER Karaikal and Yanam)
• ESIC, New Delhi (523 tentative posts in NORCET-11, the largest single share)
• NITRD, New Delhi
• CIP, Ranchi
• AIIPMR, Mumbai (NORCET-10)

JIPMER, ESIC, NITRD, CIP Ranchi and the Delhi central government hospitals published their own notices alongside the main NORCET advertisement, and each institute applies its own recruitment rules. Read the notice for the institute you want before you fill choices.

NORCET-12: Not announced as of 30 October 2026. AIIMS says NORCET is held twice a year but has not given a date for the next edition.

RRB Nursing Superintendent (CEN 05/2026)

The Railway Recruitment Boards' Centralised Employment Notice No. 05/2026 covers 590 paramedical posts across all RRBs. 365 of them are for Nursing Superintendent.

Exam pattern: a single-stage CBT of 100 questions in 90 minutes. The indicative split is 70 questions on Professional Ability (nursing), 10 General Awareness, 10 Arithmetic and Reasoning and 10 General Science, with 1/3 negative marking. Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for UR/EWS, 30% for OBC (NCL) and SC, and 25% for ST. Candidates equal to the number of vacancies are called for document verification.

Fee: ₹500 (₹400 refunded on appearing in the CBT); ₹250 for SC, ST, ex-servicemen, PwBD, women, transgender, minority and EBC candidates (refunded on appearing).

PGIMER Chandigarh Nursing Officer

PGIMER's recruitment page lists a notice to fill 243 posts of Nursing Officer on a regular basis, advertised as Advt. No. PGI/RC/055/2026/2276, dated 9 September 2026. The listing is now marked expired, so the application window has closed.

We could not open the detailed advertisement PDF on the PGIMER website, so we have not listed the eligibility, fee, age limit or exam date here. Several job portals report an application window of 10 September to 3 October 2026 and an age limit of 18-35 years. These are reports from those portals, not facts we checked against the notice. Check PGIMER's recruitment page for the exam date and admit card.

Not notified (as of 30 October 2026)

• DSSSB Nursing Officer: DSSSB has issued five vacancy advertisements in 2026 (Nos. 01/2026 to 05/2026), and none of them includes a Nursing Officer post. Watch dsssb.delhi.gov.in for a future advertisement.
• NORCET-12: not announced.

State-level staff nurse recruitments (state PSCs, NHM and state health departments) are notified separately by each state. We have not included them here because we could not check each one against its official notice.
